Duty Drawback — Recover Duties You've Already Paid
Duty drawback is a federal program that refunds up to 99% of the customs duties, taxes, and certain fees you paid on imported goods when those goods — or goods made from them — are later exported or destroyed. It is one of the most underused refund programs in U.S. trade, and for small and mid-sized importers and manufacturers the recoveries are real money that too often goes unclaimed.

What GFY Does
We build and file drawback claims end to end. You remain the claimant of record and hold any drawback ruling; GFY prepares the claim, assembles and validates the supporting data, and files it with CBP under our national broker permit. Our focus is small-to-mid-market importers and manufacturers — the accounts the big contingency shops overlook.

The Kinds of Drawback We Handle
Manufacturing Drawback
19 U.S.C. § 1313(a) and § 1313(b)Recover duties on imported materials used to make products that are then exported.
Unused Merchandise Drawback
§ 1313(j)(1) and § 1313(j)(2)Recover duties on imported goods that are exported (or destroyed) in essentially the same condition.
Rejected Merchandise Drawback
§ 1313(c)Recover duties on goods that were defective, not to specification, or shipped without your consent, and then exported or destroyed.
Timing Matters — Talk to Us Before You Ship
Some drawback requires a notice to CBP before goods are exported or destroyed, so the earlier we're involved, the more you can recover. In some cases even past exports may still qualify — so it's worth a conversation.
